Sovereign Decree appointing The Right Reverend Brent Whetstone as Royal Chaplain and Member of the Ecclesiastical Household

WHEREAS by Our Sovereign Decree establishing the Ecclesiastical Household, it was ordained that duly ordained clergy may be appointed as Chaplains to the Sovereign to provide spiritual counsel, worship, and pastoral care to the Sovereign and the Royal Family;

WHEREAS We deem it fitting to recognise the devotion, learning, and pastoral merit of the Right Reverend Brent Edward Whetstone in the service of the Christian faith;

AND WHEREAS the said Right Reverend has demonstrated qualities of discretion, charity, and fidelity becoming of one who shall minister within the Royal Household;

NOW, THEREFORE, WE, in Our Sovereign capacity and having duly considered the advice of Our Counsel, do hereby decree as follows:

Article I — Appointment

1. The Right Reverend Brent Edward Whetstone is hereby appointed as Chaplain to the Sovereign, within the Ecclesiastical Household of the Principality of Kaharagia.

2. The Chaplain shall serve under the oversight of the Protopresbyter of the Chapel Royal and in accordance with the duties prescribed by the Decree establishing the Ecclesiastical Household.

Article II — Duties and Privileges

1. The Chaplain shall offer spiritual guidance and pastoral care to the Sovereign and the Royal Family, conduct divine services, and pray continually for the Sovereign, the Royal Family, and the peace and welfare of the Principality.

2. The Chaplain shall assist in charitable and ecclesiastical works undertaken under the auspices of the Crown and shall be available for such occasions of worship or counsel as the Sovereign may direct.

3. The Chaplain shall be entitled to wear the insignia of a Royal Chaplain, being of gold and bearing the Sovereign’s monogram, as a token of office.

Article III — Tenure

1. This appointment shall endure for life unless otherwise determined by the Sovereign.

2. The Chaplain shall at all times uphold the dignity of the Sacred Ministry and the honour of the Crown.

Article IV — Precedence and Style

1. The Chaplain shall be styled Chaplain to the Sovereign and shall enjoy such precedence within the Ecclesiastical Household as the Protopresbyter may assign.

2. In official correspondence and ceremonial listings, the Chaplain shall be designated as The Right Reverend Brent Edward Whetstone, Chaplain to the Sovereign.

Article V — Enactment, Publication, and Warrant

1. This Decree shall take effect immediately upon Our Signature.

2. It shall be entered into the Royal Kaharagian Gazette and published accordingly.

3. A Warrant confirming the appointment shall be drawn up in the form of a litterae clausae, to serve as formal proof of appointment under the Great Seal of Our Principality.
